And…Action!! That’s right, after having worked on facial expressions, body language, poses, etc, the focus now falls on choreography and fight scenes. What decent horror movie could really do what is intended if there aren’t any believable fight scenes with serial killers? And that brings us to the first challenge of the week…
What would it take for you to jump from a 5 or 6 foot building and do a flip onto a safe cushiony landing thing? Would it take the knife-wielding maniac who’s right behind you and gives you literally no other choice? While most of the ladies performed well with this particular obstacle, no one performed better or outshined the others like Tanedra! She had to deal with her very real fear of heights and she managed to do a pretty admirable flip in the air to boot!!
Jon may not have imagined what could happen when he had the girls learn choreography for a “killer scene”. I don’t think anybody saw it coming. Lina and one of the other girls did not get along. It was very apparent with it came time for them to be sparring partners. The other girl managed to get a few hurtful jabs/kicks in, and we don’t really know if it was intentional. We do know that they spent considerable time throwing verbal jabs at each other! So it really is for the public to decide. Jon’s session for the week led right up to James’ Director’s Challenge.

It was now time for the girls to really let it shine. Act, scream, kick, and do successfully against a crazy maniac, all the choreography that was taught them. It sounds simple enough, but a few girls did fall short. In “Attack the Killer”, Jessica took it once again to a new extreme and Marissa floundered when it came to her turn. But no other performance is quite as memorable as Michelle’s. She screamed, she kicked, and at one point it appeared that she was auditioning for the role of She Hulk! She grunted and squatted and it was so hilarious! The other ladies thought so as well. What was really sad is that she thought she had nailed it, walking backstage to where the other ladies were, and was confronted by the sight of everyone laughing and poking fun at her rather humorous display.
Even James agreed. He told her in the cutting room (final scene where one woman is eliminated from the competition) that she did the worst in the Director’s Challenge and she still couldn’t accept it. Although she definitely took most of the focus in this episode, it was Marissa who got the axe! She never showed her potential. She never tried to go above and beyond with her performance. In short, she just didn’t give all that she had and she had a hard time letting go. Now, this part is my absolute opinion, all my own. I think that when she went for the makeover in the previous episode, it rattled and shook her. It set her off her balance and she never regained what little progress she did make early on.
Who gets axed next time? I can’t wait to find out who. I have a few people I believe are worthy of the Axe!! We’ll see what happens!
