Scream Queens Week 7

With only four ladies left in the competition now, things have gotten more dramatic and stressful. Angela couldn’t cope with not receiving the top honors for the week. Michelle, if she isn’t careful, is going to float away, like some obscene Thanksgiving Day parade float. Enough of that though…This week was all about carrying a scene on your own, or “Solo Scenes”. Each girl had to carry a handheld video camera around so that they could film their last few minutes to live. Then they had to wait until their submissions were judged. Lindsay made a vow that she would do everything in her power to make sure that Michelle doesn’t win. And so she owned this director’s challenge. She was able to apply her newfound passion to this challenge and she surprised everybody.

Jon has a sense of humor. He really does. His challenge involved each girl doing a small scene with a co-star…a dummy. No, I’m not joking. He wanted the ladies to play out a scene, pleading with the dummy. Their families have been kidnapped and they had to get information about their whereabouts. At first, all four of them failed. He gave them advice to make it personal for them. The second time around, they all got it. Improvement was visible and Jon made note of it. Okay, there was one person who was still having some difficulty letting go of the past week’s drama. Jon could tell that Angela was holding back on him. So he asked what her deal was. She finally asked the question that had been driving her absolutely mad. To make things short, Jon told her to just shrug off the disappointed feeling. Rejection is part of the biz and if she can’t deal with it and let it go, she won’t get anywhere.

James wanted to see both sides of the girls…the evil and good side. He had them recite and act out lines for both the evil and good sides, in front of a mirror. Using a green screen, you could watch the good and evil sides interact. It was evident that Tanedra was finally feeling the pressure. With no experience with technique and just pure talent, she struggled through this challenge. Angela floundered. It wasn’t believable and the abilities she had displayed over the past few weeks, were nowhere to be seen. Michelle exceeded at what she does best…playing a real bitch. Lindsay, somewhere out of left field, came in, ran with James’ advice, and owned his challenge. Looks like little miss arrogance should feel threatened now, and she does! Jon has a sense of humor. This was the next to last time the judges and ladies would meet in the cutting room before the Scream Queen Gauntlet. And things went pretty much the way I thought they would. Michelle pushed things too much. Angela, once again, closed up and let the rejection ruin her performances this week. Tanedra didn’t fare so well this time around. But Lindsay…our girl Lindsay (who really could take the win in this competition) received top honors for all of her hard work. She shook off the anxiety and nervousness and she kicked ass!! And so, we said good-bye to Angela. We knew it was coming. We just didn’t know when.

And so we are now left with Tanedra, Michelle, and Lindsay. (Who’s more surprised than I? I didn’t think a former child star could come this far and boy was I wrong!) Next week is the finale. We will see who survives the Gauntlet and who is cut before it is down to just 2 ladies. Don’t forget what’s at stake! A breakout role in the upcoming Saw VI! Who will win and who will lose? Only one way to find out, and I for one, cannot wait!!
