 Returning to Haddonfield

Returning to Haddonfield

After lots of thought, wallowing, remembering, and researching, I have come to a conclusion. I am absolutely freakin’ totally thrilled that Danielle Harris not only returned to the world of horror cinema, but she has done so with a vengeance! Don’t have a damn clue what I’m talking about? Okay, I’ll give it to you straight. After she starred as Michael Myers’ niece Jamie Lloyd in Halloween 4 and 5, Danielle took a break from horror movies. Yes, she did appear in the original 1998 Urban Legend as the completely hot and gothy roommate of the main character, played by that redhead chick whose name actually escapes me! After she was in UL, she took a break from the blood and gore and worked on more, shall we say, family-friendly movies and shows. That is, until 2007, when she starred alongside Scout Taylor-Compton in Rob Zombie’s re-vamped and updated Halloween. She played Annie Brackett, daughter of the Sheriff of Haddonfield and best friend of Laurie Strode.

I was so damn pleased when I saw her in the first Halloween! I thought, OMG, she’s back!!  This is so cool!! This now catches you up to what I said before, about her coming back with a vengeance.  Danielle Harris not only starred in Left for Dead and Burying the Ex in 2007, she went on to star in Prank in 2008 (she was one of the directors too!), and that is not all!  She completed her role in Frank Sabatella’s Blood Night and Gabriel Bologna’s Black Waters of Echo’s Pond. Wait… we’re still not done! She just finished with H2, which we all know comes out August 28th, 2009. (Duh!  Huge duh!) She is currently being filmed in Mark Vadik’s thriller Cyrus. She’s getting ready to start working in Joaquin F. Palma’s 2010 horror movie Horror 88!

Talk about a busy girl. She has talent and she has plenty of experience. I am psyched that she hasn’t walked away from the genre of horror movies permanently. She seems to have a real knack for it! And so we get to see her in Halloween 2 in August and a few of her other horror movies a little later on! I am hoping that she blows everybody out of the water with her upcoming performances in these movies. Let me know what you think! Are you happy she didn’t shun horror cinema? Do you think she has what it takes to be a scream queen? Tell me. Blog about it. Talk it over with your friends. And remember, no matter who says what, never let what the critics say determine if you’re going to spend your money and your time to see the movies you want to see!

P.S. The redhead from Urban Legend…well, her name is Alicia Witt, in case you were wondering!

  1. It only goes to show where there’s will there’s a way. Keep on trying.

I was studying something else about this on another blog. Interesting. Your perspective on it is novel. – If I were in this business only for the business, I wouldn’t be in this business. – Samuel Goldwyn 1882 – 1974
