Walking Dead: Tell it to the Frogs

Walking Dead: Tell it to the Frogs

This week’s episode begins with the group of survivors in the truck, on their way back to the survivors’ camp, just outside the city. That’s right! Rick is on his way back to the camp, and he had no idea his wife and son would be there. Asian guy makes it back before the truck. Of course the survivors are all very happy to see him back, and he lets them know that the rest of them are right behind him. Right on cue, the mall survivors are welcomed back warmly by the camp survivors. Andrea is reunited with her sister Amy. Glenn says something like we never would have make it back without help from the new guy. The new guy of course is Rick! At this point the anticipation is really building. We know what is coming next. Rick gets out of the truck and walks over to the group. He and Lori lock eyes and a warm reunion ensues, with Carl happily in tow. They hug and kiss and there are tears. Their family is all back together.

Grimes Family Reunion

But wait! Didn’t Shane tell Lori that Rick was dead? Now she is really confused and angry and happy, all at the same time. After a lot of smiles and hugs, it is revealed that Merle was left behind. Merle is of course the racist crap that was left on the building, handcuffed to a pipe. T-Dog dropped the key and he got left up there. His brother Daryl has no idea, as he has not come back from his hunting trip. Now we know that there will repercussions with that whole mess. The truth will come out and soon! The happy family spends the night in a tent. There is another weird and off situation where Rick and Lori want to spend some husband/wife time together. Lori is quick to assure Rick that Carl won’t wake up…Yeah, I thought she should have phrased it differently too.

Reuniontime

Rick and Lori's private reunion

Then comes the next day and for whatever reason Rick is away from his family again. What happens next is an awkward scene where Shane tries to teach Carl some things. Lori overhears and sees it and tells him clearly that it is over, and to stay away from her and her family. She of course also brings up the fact the he told her that Rick was dead. So she has a point there. We are left to believe that everything will be okay now. Except that an abusive ass of a husband Ed, starts to yell at his wife Carol, hits her hard and Shane overhears and sees it. He proceeds to beat the crap out of the guy, almost to the point of killing him.

Fight

Shane beats Ed up

Now we know that Shane has a real temper and he might not adapt so well to Rick being back in the picture. We still don’t know if Shane told Lori that Rick was dead, just so he could have her for himself or not. We might not ever know. I for one am hoping that everything comes out. Lori needs to tell Rick. Rick needs to kick Shane’s ass for it afterward.

Rick tells Daryl

Rick comes clean with Daryl

Rick decides to let Merle’s brother Daryl know that they left him back in the city, handcuffed on a building top. He is reasonably and understandably angry and insists that they go back. Rick, Glenn, T-Dog, and Daryl decide to go back to the city to A. Get the bag of guns Rick left behind and B. Find Merle and bring him back too. Lori isn’t happy with Rick’s choice but lets him go anyway. She, after all, did just get laid and has been reunited with her presumed dead husband. (Insert sarcasm here).

Men

Group in the City

Long story short, the group manages to make it back to the city. They get to the top of the building only to find Merle gone! The handcuffs are there and they are really bloody. So is the hand that is lying next to the handsaw that was just out of Merle’s reach! There you have it. Amazing episode this one was. It was full of anger and happiness and lots of drama and emotional turmoil.

The Return

Group returns for Merle

Make sure you watch Walking Dead. It is an amazing show that, this weekend, will be playing on AMC. That’s right. They are doing a marathon of Walking Dead, leading up to the seventh and final episode of this season. While it is sad that they are not able to put more episodes on, I will patiently wait for the next season. It is That Good!
