Prom Night
It’s really not what you think. Prom Night (2008) is not about a group of friends who accidentally cause the death of a young girl. Then years later, they are picked off one by one at their Prom. This is not the same story. Same title, yes. But that is where the similarity ends.

A young blonde by the name of Donna Keppel, played by Brittany Snow, is the victim of stalking… by her high school teacher. If that’s not sick, I don’t know what is. Okay, there are sicker things in the world than that. But a grown man who obsesses over a young student to the point of killing her dad and brother and making her watch her mom die?
Of course the usual things happen. Teacher escapes after spending 3 years in prison.Girl lives with her aunt and uncle now and goes to therapy and takes pills because of the trauma she survived.She’s had to readjust to a whole new life after 3 hard, long years…It’s finally Prom Night.She’s surrounded by friends. She’s getting ready, picking out the perfect dress. She and her boyfriend are going together. It’s a happy, party time. Her ex teacher from the old school has escaped from prison and shows up at her prom.
I won’t ruin it for those of you who haven’t seen it…I thought it was a decent movie but not well executed. I think a lot more thought could have been put into this movie. The talent was there but not the quality that makes a movie a good movie. Does that make sense? I hope so. Too many horror critics have already passed this film up and given it negative, cruel, and inaccurate reviews. Yes, I went there! We all know who you are…You don’t know a thing about horror films but you devote so much time to reviewing them that you would think that you would actually be able to recognize a good movie! Buzzer sounds. Sorry, try again. Learn what horror is all about. Please. And watch this movie, if only for the entertainment value it gives the average common everyday moviegoer!
