I fucking loved this movie. OMG. I love vampires and anything to do with the creatures of the night. Seriously, I have to confess that I have a fetish of sorts for anything vampiric. Blood does not gross me out. I like biting and being bitten. I happen to think that vampires are very erotic and driven. They have needs and wants and go out of their way to satisfy those urges and dark lusts. I see nothing wrong with them. I love them and that’s all there is to it.
LB2 did not disappoint. I found myself thinking that it was somewhat in a few ways, at least, better than the original. Heresy you say? I challenge that. There were hotter girls and guys, and I for one am glad that Corey what’s his face didn’t make it into the movie. It was almost bad enough that Feldman was there with his awkward-sounding one-liners and leftover phrases from the first Lost Boys. Did he not just repeat the very same lines he recited in the original movie? (And I felt that Goonies was the only movie that Feldman ever did any good acting in.) Or is it just me? Maybe I finally lost it. I’ll wait to hear from you to see what you say! Apparently the director and producer of the sequel felt the same way. He didn’t let him appear in anything but the alternate endings that were cut from the film before it was released!
I even thought the use of Cry Little Sister was much more appropriate for this movie. I still can’t get Cry Little Sister out of my head. Let’s review… The sister, Autumn Reeser, was younger than her brother and she was the one seduced by Angus Sutherland’s character. Can I also add to the list of why I loved this movie? Okay, I loved the fact that they were able to get Kiefer’s younger brother Angus to play the lead vampire role for LB2!! He has enough characteristics in common with his brother, to really be believable.
I know that some movies get bad reviews, but if you enjoy vampires any and even partially liked the original Lost Boys, I think you owe it to yourself… Rent Lost Boys 2. If you can, watch it On Demand in HD. I know that my reviews and opinions of horror movies won’t always mesh with yours. I realize that. But at least give these movies a chance. And keep this in mind… There has been some heavy talk about a LB3 in the works. Apparently, LB2 did so well that the producer and director are really considering this…Only drawback I see so far is that they want to cast the Frog Brothers and Corey Haim. .
I been wanting to inform you, you are totally on. I got to your blog from another post and am heavily intrigued by this topic and reading more. Do you mind if I comment to this post from my newsletter?
