Well another few weeks has passed. I’ve been so busy with the newly launched site that I haven’t been posting here. Grrr… So I apologize for being absent. I did get to go see the new Friday the 13th movie, starring Amanda Righetti and that one guy from Supernatural. Yes I know his name but the sole reason I went to see the aforementioned movie is Amanda Righetti. I thoroughly enjoyed the newest movie about Jason Voorhees and his crazy killer antics. I thought there was just enough blood, guts, and yes, boobs. There was even comic relief, provided by an Asian stoner, who, at one point, drank beer out of his own shoe. While I don’t condone that, I thought he was what made the movie funny, along with mr. gps I’m looking for my stash who disappears in the first ten minutes or so. I won’t give away anything. I just had to post a little blurb on the fact that the newest Friday the 13th movie was really really good. I even believed that Amanda Righetti was a bit scream queen worthy-ish. The girl could scream. This isn’t something that you really got to hear when she starred in Return to House on Haunted Hill. I still feel that movie wasn’t even worth her time. I remember thinking her acting was so so and since then, have faithfully watched The Mentalist. Amanda has a decent role on the show and you can actually judge her acting there…because she can act!
That’s right. If, for some reason you haven’t had the chance to see this movie yet, you should go Now! Don’t be afraid of what the critics are saying. They are always saying something and half the time, they’re wrong. They’ve forgotten what a good horror movie is all about. You have the killer, who may or may not talk and carry a big knife. You have the group of not too important people. You know the kinds. They don’t make the horror movie but they give the villain some fodder to play with and upset the main character. And of course then you have the main character. She (or he) is usually already a victim of life circumstances and somehow she has survived. Only to be chased, harassed, stalked, rundown, or etc. You get the picture. You know the drill. You’ve seen so many horror movies that you sometimes quote great lines from them. I know this. I do the same thing. So I encourage…no, I implore you to see Friday the 13th if you haven’t already. And then we can have some real dialogue on whether the critics were right, or just seeing things through desensitized glasses…
