Ever since the first Resident Evil movie came out in 2002 [on my birthday even], I have been a fan of the movie franchise. Who can forget the awesome scene where Alice, wearing a skimpy red dress and black boots, kicks the ass of some mean zombified guard dogs! I have enjoyed each Resident Evil movie, with its own unique flavor. I never played the video games, save one…Resident Evil 4. And to this day, my hubs and I have not gotten past the jet ski escape scene at the very end of the game. Just minutes ago, I watched the trailer for Resident Evil: Afterlife! One thing I noticed was the insertion of two very interesting characters…3D. That’s right! The newest Resident Evil movie, out this September, will be shown in 3D. And not just any 3D, the same 3D that James Cameron and his crew developed for Avatar. Talk about a kickass horror movie.
The storyline for this not yet released film goes something like this: “In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice (Jovovich), continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead takes them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead – and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.” Thanks to Screen Gems for that very nice synopsis!
Of course, we all know that the old friend they are referring to is Claire Redfield, played by Ali Larter. She of course was in the previous Resident Evil: Extinction. I for one am now totally psyched about Afterlife. I was beyond thrilled when the news first leaked about ten months ago. I love the whole feel of the Resident Evil movies and I love, love, love Milla Jovovich! I was bummed when they said that the movie wouldn’t come out til January of 2011, after it was first announced that it would be out in September then August of this year. But now that it’s going to be hitting movie theaters in 5 months (September 10th!), the world is good again!
Good article. I am also excited for the new RE! GO 3D, WOOT!
Thank you! We are real excited over here about the trailer. It looks so good! In 3d too!!!!
