2 Reasons To Hit the Movies August 28th

2 Reasons To Hit the Movies August 28th

Now it is absolutely no secret that I am a huge Halloween fan, or more accurately a fanatic of the Halloween franchise. I love the movies and the graphic novels. I own a few t-shirts and Michael Myers buttons. So it is no surprise that I am going to now blog about the upcoming Halloween 2 by Rob Zombie! I loved his re-imagining of Michael Myers. I was not so thrilled with Scout Taylor-Compton’s performance, or I wasn’t at first. Let’s just say that she grew on me as the movie continued. I like the fact that most of the original cast is returning for the sequel. I even like the fact that Rob Zombie vehemently denied that he would do a second movie for Halloween, until the right script just sort of dropped into his lap and he had to take a step back and say that yes he would do it. He now felt compelled to. I’ve enjoyed the look of the sets and the various pictures of the cast in different scenes. I wish I knew more about the script, but I am happy to wait until I get to see it in the local movie theater!

I know there are some naysayers out there. There always are and I’m sure there always will be. They need to at least give H2 a chance. That’s right… Before you go and make a judgment in 2 seconds, give the movie a chance. Watch it and then make your mind up on what your opinion is. I for one, hope that tons of Halloween fans will show up at their local movie theaters on August 28th!! But wait…why see one horror movie when you could see 2?

I’m talking about the new Final Destination: Death Trip 3D. The newest story in the Final Destination series comes out the same day as H2! If you have no idea what this one is about. Sit back for a few…FD:DT starts out at a race track. A guy and his friends decide to go to the race track to watch a few races. But, like all FD heroes before him, he has a freaky premonition and somehow gets his friends to leave with him. He thinks he is now safe and sound, but of course, he’s wrong. One by wrong people are dropping dead, dying in some highly horrific and imaginative way. He has to figure out how to cheat death before death comes for him.

I liked the first 2 Final Destination films very much. The 3rd movie in the franchise was pretty good too. I have no idea if this one will be worth it. But, I am willing to give it a shot. You hear that critics? I am willing to suspend my judgment until after I have actually seen the movie. Another reason this movie might actually be good is that it is, at least in the movie theaters that will cough up the money for this option, be shown in 3D. I regret that I did not have a chance to see My Bloody Valentine, and when I did try to go, my local theaters weren’t even showing it in 3D.(In the end, I did not see a movie that night. I had my heart set on seeing MBV:3D and of course my heart was horribly and painfully broken!) So I have resigned myself to the fact that I will have to drive an hour+ just to be able to see both of these movies in the way that they were meant to be experienced. I love horror movies! I like the fact that both of these movies come out on the same day. I love double-features. So if you love horror as much or slightly less than I do, go to the movies and stay for H2 and Final Destination: Death Trip.

Show the critics that you will not be swayed by their opinions…that you will form your own, by seeing these movies, despite
what they say about them!!!
