If you haven’t heard this fascinating and surprising little tidbit, nobody blames you. Really. Well maybe a little. You see, John Carpenter, after so many years of not directing horror movies, has decided to make a return, after 8 years or so.[You may remember that the last film he did direct was Ghosts of Mars back in 2001!] His return will definitely be anything but typical. His return to the world of horror film directing boasts the acting skills of Amber Heard and Danielle Panabaker!
I could not in good conscience, fail to say a few words about John Carpenter! John Carpenter is most known for Halloween, well maybe in this fan’s eyes. He also directed The Fog, They Live, Christine, Village of the Damned, Escape From New York, Vampires, Ghosts of Mars, and on and on. The man is talented and has been around for a long time. This fan is pretty pleased that he is returning to directing horror movies!
Quick bio on Amber Heard in case you haven’t heard of her yet, and we know you will! She stars in the remake of The Stepfather, due out October 16th later this year. She will have noticeable acting roles in Zombieland, due out in October, and And Soon the Darkness, due out sometime in 2010. She has had other roles in Pineapple Express, Never Back Down, and All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. Just a brief note…Odette Yustman will star opposite Amber in And Soon the Darkness!
Danielle Panabaker has been on various tv shows, like CSI, Law & Order: SVU, Malcolm in the Middle, The Guardian, and more. She played the part of Jenna in the Friday the 13th move, opposite Amanda Righetti. She played Kevin Costner’s daughter in Mr. Brooks. She plays Becca in the upcoming remake of The Crazies due out in 2010.
So it looks like as far as horror movie releases go, the month of October promises to be a very busy one! And that’s just counting the movies Amber Heard will be starring in…
