Bad Girls Burn In Hell

THE GOREHOUNDS VS. THE GHOST TOWN

When hardcore horror filmmakers visited a whistle-stop town, the whistle was blown on them.

Horror filmmakers everywhere dream of finding locations like Picher, Oklahoma. Sure, the place is emptier than New York City in “I Am Legend,” but it has that creepy aura you just can’t get out of a studio soundstage. What better place to film a tale of the macabre than a town that looks like it’s been visited by the Angel of Death?

That’s exactly what the good people of Death Factory, Inc. thought when they went there in October to film their latest, good-natured perversion, “Bad Girls Burn In Hell”. Things started off well. Then looters made off with a generator and some paranormal researchers confused the shoot for an actual murder site.

Then they were filming a scene where a man is crucified and walloped with a shovel. The cops showed up with a concerned local, who thought they were actually murdering someone. Even after showing the gentleman the shovel was rubber, and the filmmakers assured him they weren’t making a snuff film, he still thought they were doing something malicious.

Then Gary Linderman got wind of the wicked doings. Linderman runs the Ole Miner’s Pharmacy and was once featured in People magazine. He went to the filmmaker’s Web site and immediately phoned the police.

The Death Factory folk tried to explain to the cops and the district attorney that they were doing hardcore horror, not hardcore porn, which is illegal in Oklahoma. Even though they had a contract to use several houses and a church, the DA gave them the boot. Then after they left, some firebug torched the houses the filmmakers had used as sets. That’s a lot of bad voodoo.

The filmmakers will be finishing the last week of the movie in January, in Joplin, MO. Incidentally, the Joplin Globe, which circulates in over 14 counties, wrote a piece about this whole fiasco, and another about the fire:

“Bad Girls Burn In Hell” features scream queens Devanny Pinn and Rachel Grubb, along with independent film legend, Lloyd Kaufman. Funnily enough, the director of photography, Corey Soria, is also a famous porn director, who goes by the alias, Craven Moorehead. And, it’s helmed by do-it-yourselfer Joe Hollow and Travis Miller. These gentlemen are hardcore. They’re willing to brave lawmen and accusations of lewdness, just to give their audiences a few good scares.
